I am Sarah Walters, a retired doctor, qualified fitness and Nordic Walking Instructor and I welcome you to Pragmasis Fitness. Having spent my life battling ill health due to an inherited condition, I recognise the value of health and the importance of maintaining fitness. When I retired from my work as a doctor and University Lecturer, I trained as a fitness instructor so I could help other people become fit and healthy, and enjoy life to the full. I believe strongly in the concept that we can all influence our destiny, no matter what level of health we were born with. I have over forty years of experience of participating in sport and exercise and I enjoy a wide range of sport and leisure activities, including aerobics, step, cycling, Nordic Walking, walking and alpine skiing. In the past I have trained in athletics, cricket and martial arts.
At present, I can offer group fitness classes, and Nordic Walking instruction and Personal Training services.
I am a REPS (register of exercise professionals) Level 3 registered advanced fitness instructor and personal trainer, an exercise to music instructor, and International Nordic Walking Association Nordic Walking Instructor. I am also a registered Boxercise instructor. I am fully qualified and insured to offer safe and effective exercise in the gym, and outdoors, and have the Nordic Walking UK Safe Exercise in the Outdoor Environment certificate.
I currently work part-time at the Snowdome Gym helping people with chronic medical conditions to develop fitness, and I am also a qualified ski instructor.
I believe passionately that keeping fit is the best way for you to take control of your health and your life. If you don't use it, you lose it. I would like to help everybody learn how to keep themselves healthy and fit, and to get the most out of their life, no matter what level of health, fitness or ability they start from.
